About the Author

Tania Marshall is a leading psychologist, a best selling author, a 2016 & 2015 ASPECT Autism Australia National Recognition Award Nominee (Advancement Category) and a 2015 eLIT Gold Medal Award winner for her first self-published book entitled "I Am AspienGirl: The Unique Characteristics, Traits and Strengths of Young Females on the Autism Spectrum", foreword by Dr. Judith Gould.  The sequel to this book entitled "I Am AspienWoman: The Unique Characteristics, Traits and Strengths of Adult Females on the Autism Spectrum", Foreword by Dr. Shana Nichols, was released in August 2015 and obtained a #1 best-selling ranking in both the Autism and Disabilities categories on August 29th, 2015. Tania is currently writing the third book in her book series entitled "AspienPowers: The Unique Constellation of Strengths, Talents and Gifts of Females with Autism Spectrum Conditions". The Spanish version of I am Aspiengirl, entitled Soy AspienGirl is now available. Tania's work has been translated and/or cited in numerous publications including Sarah Hendrickxs' recent release entitled "Women and Girls with an Autism Spectrum Disorder" (2015), foreword by Dr. Judith Gould.   Tania's work has been referred to by world expert Dr. Judith Gould, Sarah Hendrickx and by UK researchers in "The female Autism Conundrum".


Tania participated in a PhD pilot research project with Dr. Amanda Webster entitled, 'Investigating Factors of Success for Women with ASD'. She is working on a number of projects, including "The AspienGirl® Big Book of Mentors: 100 Inspiring Autistic Girls and Women offer guidance, motivation, inspiration and support".

Tania provided the welcome and opening remarks at the 2015 first International Autistic Women's Symposium held in Buenos Aires, Argentina. 

I am AspienGirl and I am AspienWoman were both sold at the 2015 Asia Pacific Autism (APAC) conference and the 2015 50th Australian Psychological Society (APS) Annual Conference.

Tania has been interviewed on both The Autism Show (EdX), Vancouver, Canada and Positively Autistic, London UK, and her work has been featured in Autism Parenting Magazine, the Missouri Autism Report, Geek Club Books, Autism Companion Magazine, Autistic Spectrum Digest, Autism Daily Newscast, Mamamia and the Irish Examiner. 

Tania is a psychologist and an APS Identified Autism Practitioner who works with individuals who are on and off the Spectrum, gifted, twice exceptional (2e), highly sensitive, who have anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorders, eating disorders, ADHD, depression, learning disabilities, Autism Spectrum Conditions and other developmental conditions; in particular, Girls and Women with Asperger Syndrome or High Functioning Autism. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Masters of Science degree in Applied Psychology. She completed an internship in the ADHD and Disruptive Behavior Disorders Clinic at a large Children's Hospital. Following her Masters degree, she completed an 18 month full-time post-masters externship which consisted of supervised practice in both private practice and at a special needs school for children ages 5-19. These placements both took place under the supervision of a clinical psychologist. She has worked in private practice since then. In 2013, Tania and Dr. Amanda Webster (Autism Studies, Griffith University) co-researched a Pilot study entitled "Predictors of Success Factors: A Phenomenological Pilot Study of Adult Females with Asperger Syndrome".

Tania currently works in busy full-time private practice, providing diagnostic assessments, intervention and support to males and females ages 2-76 years of age. Tania is an Australian Psychological Society (APS) Identified Autism Practitioner, a Helping Children with Autism Early Intervention Service Provider (HWCA), a Better Start for Children with a Disability Provider, an approved Medicare provider of psychological services and a trained Secret Agent Society (SAS) Practitioner. She will also be an Australian National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Identified Provider upon completion of its roll-out through-out Australia.

Tania is a recognized Psychologist by Medicare Australia and is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). She is a professional member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). In addition, Tania is a recognized APS Autism Identified Practitioner.

Tania's first book, entitled I Am AspienGirl, made it to the #1 Amazon ranking, in 3 categories, and the #2 Amazon USA ranking, in the Special Needs category, in its second week of release as an eBook. The book is available in eBook, paperback and hard cover formats. Completed translations of the book include Spanish, German and Brazilian Portuguese. Other translations currently bring completed include: Italian, French, Dutch, Norwegian, German, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese and Hebrew in 2015-2016.

The sequel to the best-selling I am AspienGirl is now completed and available for pre-order. Entitled I Am AspienWoman, this book takes off where I am AspienGirl left off and details the unique female phenotype, including characteristics, traits, talent, gifts and sub-types.






Tania is now completing AspienPowers available for pre-order now. AspienPowers focuses on the unique combination of strengths, talents, gifts that combined together enable many female with Asperger Syndrome or Autism to be very successful in life.

Written from the perspective of a psychologist working with females on the Autism Spectrum, this book details the lived experiences, internal experiences and autobiographical descriptions including the childhood, adolescent, and early adult experiences and descriptions common to females on the Spectrum, as told by females on the Spectrum themselves. 


Originally Tania's focus was to write and detail her private practice work with females due to to fact that there is very little information written by psychologists who work with females. After the release of I Am AspienGirl, Tania received many emails and messages requesting a "boy" version of I Am AspienGirl. Tania is now completing I Am AspienBoy and this book is available for pre-order now.


Tania's 5th book is an exploration of the narratives, the themes, the perspectives and thoughts, similarities and differences, including sub-types of a very large group of females, all on the Autism Spectrum. Behind The Mask: The Narratives and Themes of Females with an Autism Spectrum Condition, a Guide for Professionals working with Female on the Autism Spectrum is due for release late 2015.
